With weeks of planning to get the right location & having gained permission from an unfortunate house owner, as well as West Mids Fire Brigade, I have recently been on location with West Mids Fire Dogs team in order to hopefully shoot 1 or 2 award winning images that I can use as my entries for the “Working Dogs” & “Man’s Best Friend” categories in the 2015/16 Kennel Club Dog Photographer of the Year competition.
For security, I am not (yet) showing the two images I have chosen as my entries, but they are, in my opinion, the best two of a selection of images that I am privileged to have been allowed to take. Many thanks to Mat, my incredibly knowledgeable & all round great host for the day, Kai, his 3yr old Malinois & the Brigade for allowing it to happen.
Should you or your organisation require pet or animal photography in difficult, challenging or unusual surroundings then contact me on 07834 60 1000 or via email using robjdray@gmail.com. I am also more than happy to photograph animals in a more “normal” domestic or countryside location – see example images on the site.

I hope you enjoy these images & thank you for taking time out to look.
